Chest, back and neck aches after 2 weeks of recovering from bronchitis - explanation?

Have bronchitis, finished antibiotic today (Levaquin), taking MethylPrednisolone, Advair, Singulair, Albuterol and Spiriva.

After 2 weeks, my chest is still sore, feeling like there are weights on it. Just today, my back and neck have become INCREDIBLY sore with aches. Particularly, on the sides of my neck, the part of my back near my shoulders and my lower back. Felt VERY weak today and mainly stayed in bed.

Anyone have an explanation for this? I’m still waiting for my chest x-ray. Has my bronchitis turned to pneumonia?

Call the doctor in the morning. You may need another round of antibiotics.

The ache in your back and shoulders maybe a slightly dislocated vertebra from coughing. If it does not stop try a chiropractor.

I’m not doctor but I would say that it is possible that you could have pneumonia. My daughter had the same symptoms that you are having and she had pneumonia. Hers also started out as bronchitis. Are you coughing up anything and do you have a fever. These are some other symptoms that my daughter had. Hope this helps some. Hope you get to feeling better, even though I have never had it myself, I know how my daughter felt. Also, some antibiotics that you take might not be strong enough to handle what you have, might need to try something else.

With bronchitis you cough so hard that you actually can pull muscles that you’re not used to using. Your neck can be sore from lying in bed for long periods at a time. Since you’ve finished your antibiotic today it seems odd for you to still have so much discomfort, so pneumonia can’t be ruled out.
You’ll know soon enough from the x-ray. Hope you feel better soon.
